vf48,i have to say,its a better tubo than the vf35.
car spec is..
2004 jdm sti short engine
v4 type r heads
walbro
vf48
h&s dei wrapped sports cat downpipe
2.5 straight through centre section
h&s backbox
hybrid fmic
rcm induction
walbro pump
apexi power fc
oe 440 injectors
oe headers
exedy pink clutch
6kg billet steel flywheel
dccd short ratio type r gearbox.
with a set of 550s it will see 360 bhp. engine capable of 450/450
going to leave it at this power(for now) as i cant afford six speed.
it drives and sounds superb.

I doubt it will see 360 tbho from the one I see dyno'd a month ago especially when your already at 1.5 bar, although it did spool very well!!
The torque is a bit low when compared to the 34/35 though, that said it will make for a very nice road car that spools well to boot, well done chap.

still on oe headers etc.
the vf48 is a great turbo and delivers the power very smoothly.
a vf48 will make more power and torque than a vf35 with all suporting mods.
i had a vf35 old my 99 wagon and it only made 303lb ft.
cant praise the vf48 enough,it feels miles better than my vf35 did.

I'm thinking of swapping my 35 for something else as its struggling to make 300lb/ft so i'll keep a lookout for a 48.
My mate has a 34 running 360/360 but he's on a 6 speed. Strange thing is, with the added weight of the box our cars are very similar in performance on the road.
I'm hoping to add ported headers, full decat down/up pipes and a 3 port to improve spooling on my VF35, then will think about a swap to something with a smoother delivery later.

dont mean any offence but I would epxdect it to spool earlier..
If it feels quick now and is spooling that late, you have more fun to come
on the road what rpm in 5th do you see 1bar boost?
Alternatively it could be a dyno gearing mistake.

not sure,i would need to monitor that using the commander....im led to believe that the vf48 does vary a little with mapping, different cars/specs etc seem to get quite varied power/torque/spool from a vf48?
