How does he 'know' it's the big ends if the engine hasn't been apart yet, surely it's an assumption? And from someone not competant enough to handle the rebuild...

Second opinion time i think

thats also true haha

he said when i started it that it sounds like the ends when he revved it .

big knocking noise from the centre of the engine and on the offside

im just starting to wonder if its worth getting a second hand engine as it may be cheaper than a rebuild been quoted for a second hand engine so far £1140 but sure i could get it cheaper elswhere .

hiope it aint going to cost too much as its starting to get me down

atleast my sense of humor is still here

Get a second opinion and then decide what direction you want to take as it will be costly to rebuild and a newage sti lump from a car being broken would do the job if you are wanting to keep the power between 300-400. what model car do you have?

Like I said in your previous thread, your engine does not have hydraulic tappets

Dont rush out and buy a engine from any Tom, Dick or Harry and run the risk of buying a lemon.
