afterburner is very very loud. I used to have a full decat system, loved it but far too loud for the track and also the quiet little village i live in. Gutted it's gone.

I got mine from scoobyworld, not sure why they're not answering they work until 12.30 on sat's. Keep trying, they might just be short staffed or something.

What are you after? I'm selling decate downpipe and decate cat pipe for newage if you're interested.

Cheers

Get the backbox and the center pipe and keep your cat pipes. Nice scoob sound without being silly

Top quality, never had an issue. Don't think scoobyworld would sell if they're crap. Much better than half the ebay crap around

I have an afterburner back box and would say they are just right with the cats still in.

They are louder than a prodrive box and give much more burble

Scoobyworld sell them, or usually can be found second hand on ebay

They are great quality.

You can have either angled or straight. The angled apparantly flows a bit better as less bends in the pipe.

Lastly, if you are fitting and angled one to a hawkeye with a rear defuser, some 'adjustments' need to be made. Either a small corner off the back of the defuser of a ball hammer 'dink' in the pipe. That will sort it!.

Again, if it is a hawkeye you have, then try changing the resonated pipe (next pipe to the back box), for a de res pipe (£99). THAT made the world of difference to the sound on mine and you may be happy with leaving the prodrive box on with that done.

We're generally not open Saturdays, other than for rolling road days (like yesterday) or when we need extra time to get customers cars finished / mapped.

The Afterburner is our own product that we designed back in 2003, and the designs changed little since. Hayward and Scott manufacture them for us, and always have.

Our websites got pictures, fitment options and pricing all listed for the Afterburner and we've got stock of these on the shelves.

If you order via the website we usually dispatch same or next business day via 24hr courier. Otherwise call us Monday if you want to order via phone.

Cheers

Angled exit is £204.99 straight exit is £225

Just choose the required option from the drop down list

Hi, I have a backbox for sale from my 04 blobeye, it looks suspiciously like the afterburner, very loud too! My prodrive backbox is getting fitted on Monday (24th) and I want £120 delivered or £100 pickup if anyone is interested before it goes on ebay, thanks Mark.

Getting mine fitted soon, got an Afterburner Vortex backbox, ninja resonated centre pipe and scorpion midpipe decat, the up / down pipe will still have the cats in them, likely to still be very livavble with ??

dont really want to have to run a bung in the backbox but will get one just incase !!

anyone here just the AB vortex backbox and decat midpipe, anything else standard on there blobeye ??

ruuning a blitz catback here just now with the bung in place , likely to be much different to this ??

Neil,

Maybe you can answer a question for me.

I currently have an angled afterburner but am thinking of ordering a straight and marrying it up to a decat system as I have 'done' the angled look. Someone once said that the angled flows better? Any comments?

Steve.

Angled backbox will flow better as there are less bends for the exhaust gases to pass through .Also I have had 7 different backboxes in 2.5 years and always find myself coming back to a vortex. As i posted in another post, I had a 3' miltek recently, sounded nothing like a vortex on tickover more bass from the vortex imho.

Proof of the pudding angled vs straight exit :

Prodrive is one of the quietest backboxes available ,the vortex sounds the same when it has the bung inserted.

Still looking for a video off the afterburner backbox with just a midpipe decat / resonated centre pipe / original catted up / down pipe on the blobeye wrx if anyone has this particular combination on video ??

decided to keep to a resonated centre section and standard up / down pipe so hopefully with that I will find the exhaust nice, throaty but in no way offensive !!

FAO scoobyworld - heard it said that the resonated centre pipe for the afterburner is exactly the same as the ninja resonated centre pipe- can you confirm ??
