Default Are P1 and STi intercoolers identical?

As title. Seen a P1 IC locally and thought it might be a decent upgrade for my 93 WRX Wagon? Just wanted to make sure an STi item wasn't better.

How many horses should the IC release? 3bhp maybe?

Difficult to say how much bhp it will give,as to see any noticable increase it would need to go with other mods like injectors, fuel pump and remap.

Although saying that if you fit a better air filter and the top mount it will breath better so you will have more of the bhp that you already have available for more of the time, if that makes sense.

In effect it will run like it does on a cold morning, as opposed to a warm afternoon.

So basically it will make the car more responsive and is a worthwhile mod?

Argh not a direct fit? Damn. What do I need to do to make it fit? Anything I do to this car has to be cheap as possible as I'm not meant to be spending on it lol.

Have a search using google using terms sti intercooler and classic followed by scoobynet and you'll get plenty of results.

For your information the sti 3-6 intercoolers are around 25% larger I'm terms of area exposed to the vent, the later version 5/6 has a better core.

This might well be a better use of your time and money i would clean out inside and out and straighten the fins on your old unit when it is off.
