Safety Recall Campaign for 'Impreza S203, S204 and TYPE RA-R' - Air Intake Duct
We at Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI) would like to thank you for your patronage of our products.
We sincerely regret to inform you however, that due to a design flaw in the 'Air Intake Duct' (For Impreza '03 through '07MY GDB Type, Part Number: 14454S010) which was pre-installed in the 'Impreza S203, S204 and TYPE RA-R' developed and manufactured by STI, the metal connector part of the Air Intake Duct can come into contact and can wear out the fuel line. If it is used over a long period of time, this could cause a pinhole to appear on the fuel line, which might in turn lead to a fire due to fuel leakage.
We have reported to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism today, the implementation of a recall of the Impreza S203, S204 and TYPE RA-R with the afore mentioned affected Air Intake Duct installed. As a precautionary measure, the metal connector and rubber hose of the Air Intake Duct will be replaced with modified parts and the fuel line will be inspected for any damage. In case any evidence of contact is identified during this inspection, the fuel line will also be replaced with a new part free of charge.
We will also implement the same precautionary countermeasure for those customers who have purchased the affected Air Intake Duct separately and have had it installed in their vehicles. For owners of afore mentioned vehicles, a SUBARU dealership near you will notify you on this matter in due course. For customers who purchased the affected STI Air Intake Duct separately, it is advised to contact a SUBARU dealership near you with or without the notification from your dealer.
To all customers, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and trouble this may cause.
■ Affected vehicles
STI Limited Edition Model 'Impreza S203, S204 and TYPE RA-R' manufactured between November 2004 and February 2007 (all units)
Impreza ('03 through '07MY GDB Type) equipped with the STI Air Intake Duct (Part Number: 144594S010).
■ Affected part
Air Intake Duct Part Number: 144594S010

Errrrrm.....
Doubtful for a JDM car, they dont cover any warranty/recall work due to the car being outside the EU market. you would need to find a dealer that can speak with the japanese dealers, give them the chassis number and then get the parts ordered.

Yup positive, the chassis numbers are what the dealers will go by and none of the JDM ones will match up they are shorter than UK ones, plus there is the issue of having a different parts catalogue thats not held by uk dealers (it may be the same/similar part but cannot be ordered by UK dealers if the part number is different), then you have I.M.....

It states on the print that its japanese market only (right at the bottom) and no, they wont know anything about it as they dont have the japanese model catalogue for the part numbers
Best to go back through who the car was imported by and see if they can speak with the japanese dealers

Mitsubishi uk don't touch imports however they honor recall work so I assume the same for Subaru. I'll chase it up on Monday and give Glenn and Kenny an update to save you the hassel
