RCM prices: OTT?
I'm no tight wad in anyway, and pay for quality BUT I had a look through all of the products on the rcm site and they are Totally overcharging, it's a disgrace in my opinion.

when you have a good product you can charge what ever you like and because its the best people will pay, sometimes its best to just wait a bit longer and get the best but there are loads of other places to shop alot cheaper with the same quality of product

No worse than others out there TBH. Take radical for reference. £2.50 for 1 12mm dia O ring for the fuel rail. Needs 8 and including postage was just over £30 if bought via there website. I managed to buy 200 for less than a tenner.

They aren't the cheapest but if you look at the quality of everything they sell its second to none.
You know that buying from them that its going to fit, and its going to do the job it was designed for.
Have a look at other similar places, Graham Goode, Lateral, Demon Tweeks. They are all in the same ball park.
I think you're post is a tad dramatic if i'm honest.

Welcome to the world of performance parts
(I dont agree with you btw, if you want quality then you pay for it, if you want cheap crap or 2nd hand parts, buy chinese or go to a breakers), just dont expect the parts to be any good

I wouldn't say they are a disgrace but come on chaps, you all have to admitt that some of their prices are a tad over the top.
They play on the fact that they are the best (and they are) and that people will pay over the top prices to have their name on a part.
And remember, most of their stuff isn't made by them. Exhausts for instance, made by another company with an RCM badge on it. Their massively expensive induction kit, a KnN filter with a fancy trumpet.
Don't get me wrong, if I won the lottery I would have a 22B in their workshop having the complete treatment.

Everybody has the right to charge what they want for whatever they do or sell.
By the same token, customers have the right to choose where they spend their hard earned.
Yes RCM may seem on the expensive side, I certainly couldn't afford to send my car there, but I have bought from them.
They have extensive stock, and exemplary service.
Try and find anyone, anywhere, who has had bad service from them.
To call them 'rip offs' just shows your un-appreciation of what is involved in the tuning industry.

Side indicators at rcm 30 odd quid is all I can say. They have not been engineered or designed by themselves, they are simply overcharging and cashing in on their name. Their engineering is breathtaking, but tiny bit of respect has gone after looking through their exaggerated prices.

I bring to you a Subaru asking for a repaint.
It is a MY 2000 car, with rusty rear arches, stonechips on the front, usual shopping trolley dents along the side.
It is metallic.
I've been quoted two prices, one at £1000.00, the other at £3000.00.
I decide to go for the £3000.00 option...
Am I being ripped off....?

They have probably spent millions over the years getting that name.
There product is one of the best,,, if not the best.

I think that they put a lot of R&D into their products to make sure they are the best and this is reflected in the fact that everything they sell and do is in fact the best which is also reflected in the price.
I shall be paying them a visit for the first time soon and buying one of their fuel pumps which costs around double the price of others, but it's the only one that i have heard of that takes into account the voltage fluctuations of the impreza fuel pump power supply, which is something i have not heard mentioned anywhere else in the 8yrs i have been on the subaru scene, but they know and i'm sure there is a damm site more info to be had from the best in the business, and if other very highly though of tuners such as engine tuner use their components then who am i to doubt their pedigree.
Those of us that know will pay, after all a little extra now can save a lot in the future, and i for one will use them for some of my key components because they are.
Simply the best, dum, dum, dum, dum, better than all the rest

Was having a chat today, my wing mirror glass fell out of my drivers side wing mirror (just the glass not the backing) when I was going round a roundabout, the car is a vauxhall astra H.
Halfords dont do a replacement glass for that (heated with blind spot), dealer does, £70.20.
Mercedes wing mirror glass, £350!!
Work that one out

If someone (customer) agrees to pay a price for a service or item at the quoted price, then that is not a 'rip off'.
Granted, as I stated earlier, they seem expensive.
But, they have extensive stock, which costs money to initially buy and to eventually store.
Many places may sell identical products cheaper, but rarely keep stock.
I think 'disgrace' and 'rip off' are a bit out of place tbh.

If both options were to be of the same quality then you would of ripped yourself off, Why is the £3000 option better?

I see where your coming from don't get me wrong here, but a comparison between bodywork/bodyshops is totally different when you take into account the vast difference in bodyshops ability to make a dent completely gone and still visible when looked at down the flanks and also the massive difference is low grade material cost to premium but as already mentioned quite a bit of there parts are not there own just stickerd as such and it's not like they are using any special parts that the likes of ET/API don't use so where does the massive prices come from...?
AND and a big one is that we are not talking about 3k here it's more like 30k is alot of cases for a job that could be had for half if not more at most other places.

I know you're in the body game, with quite a good rep it seems.
Building high spec Subarus can be, and is, expensive. £30k is easily consumed.
I could get a similar spec car built at a 'small' Subaru specialist for half the money of the same spec car from RCM, but I have yet to see or hear of a failure from RCM, and if they have happened, they have undertaken good customer service to avoid any unhappy customers...

Disgrace may have been a little ott, but I am disappointed after looking through their website. Can I not afford it? Well yes I can actually. Ive just been about long enough to know when a company is taking advantage and that is what I don't like.
