I think it is over priced. Wagons normally go for a lot less than saloons and thats roughly what you would pay for a saloon. It also has a tow bar, I mentioned this in another topic to do with a car have the big end bearings going.
With a tow bar you don't know what the previous owner has been pulling also have they warmed it properly because if your pulling considerable amount of weight then you do tend to rev high.

Nothing major, if you don't already know the difference, you won't notice, apparently the electrics are a little different as well according to my mate that picked mine up,as he has an o4 and mine is a 54 with 2 owners first being a subaru dealer so it must have been one of the first facelifts around, not that i know the difference..guess i will find out in a couple of weeks when i look at the suspension.
Would be good if someone could let us all know

Look at when I joined - I've been looking that long!
But seriously, I made my mind up a few months ago thats what I want, and I have narrowed it to an 04 or an 05 wagon with PPP, which is limiting my options. Gutted I didnt just throw caution to the wind and buy Dubsters.

Tbh between the tow bar, the dog guard and the fact that it's coming up to a major service that includes cambelt, water pump, oil pump all fluids you'll be looking at £700 for that lot and and thats before you find anything else, it's already up for £5800 i would just call him and tell them that and see what they say, as i don't think they will be haggeling down to £3500. because they obviously have no idea what it's really worth.
Ps did not read the description so don't know if the service items have been done but i would make sure the clutch is pulling as it should as that will cost another £500 and these cars can be popular with caravaners.
And as above sounds like it could have had a bit of a hard life.
Oh and did i mention they think it's worth £5800.
And another lad on here just bought a hawk wrx for £4k but thats a 2.5 so not as sought after by those that know

For what it's worth fella, mine is a 54 plate facelift model.. red calipers, facelift dash etc etc. I paid £4500, six months ago, had 78k miles. That was on the steep side but it had a genuine STI bumper and EBC discs/pads all round plus pro-drive exhaust. That lot saved me nearly a grand stright away so i bagged it!! Did you view the car today?

Right....viewed the car today.
The good bits:
It is basically immaculate, a light scratch that looks like it will polish out, but thats about it.
The tow bar has been used to carry a mountain bike.
The dog guard is recent, they do have a dog but its not a 'doggy' car.
It has a years MOT
It has 4 brand new eagle F1's
it has a pile of receipts
it has the PPP cert
It drives lovely, with no rattles or squeaks or flatspots.
Its booked in for a full service (note cambelt was done at 45k) on Thursday, thats diff oil change etc.
The bad bits:
It has FSH, but some of it isnt subaru. This is, I think, mainly due to location (first owner from bishop aukland, bought from kendal)
It has oil changes between the services
It doesnt have much tax
its overpriced.
So, its fundamentally a good car, but its fundamentally overpriced.
Confused!

Yep - I asked what he wanted and he said £5300. I said its overpriced, he said its worth it, I agreed it was worth over book, but not that much. We agreed to talk again on thursday after the service - he's expecting it to be £600, and if it's less he'll come down a bit more.
Nice chap actually.

I have seen those PH links, and I do like the red one - but isn't it just as overpriced? I have traded a few emails with the guy and he won't budge on price.
(not to mention it being in scotland!)
