Default my99 running 1.2bar boost..

I've searched loads for this but would just like a few opinions..
Basicaly had my classic a couple months now and bought it running 3" cat back, k&n induction cone and hks blow off. When i got it it was boosting at 0.9 bar and seemed good. After a full service including better plugs and leads it now (after a couple weeks?) is boosting at 1.1-1.2 bar before easing back. There is no warning lights on etc..
From what i gather standard boost should be around 0.9-1 bar? Sooo.. Q is may it of been mapped or would these few mods make it boost higher? Only curious as i keep reading to bin the k&n and blow offs but am unsure how car will react if its been mapped to suit!
Any help on this please.. Oh and i know the obvious would be get it on RR but i'm down the very southern point of Cornwall and there's none around here!!
Thanks in advance!
*edit- Also when serviced and upgrading plugs the ht leads were shot..

On a standard ecu 1.2 bar would be fuel cut, standard boost should be around 0.9 bar maybe check if it has a manual boost controller, doubt is has a ECB , so the only way to raise the boost without a boost controller would be a remap of the ecu

As r1c says a full decat would also raise the boost, but sounds a bit high that it has gone from 0.9 to 1.2, although you might have gained power by replacing the plugs, also worth checking if you are missing the restrictor pill

Nope still has cat in place? The leads were completly done in and obviously reducing power so i put it down to that. The car has been well looked after extensive history, service book has no space left in it and only on 78k! The previous owner must of had cash to spare.. There is wads of reciepts etc but none for mapping?
Not heard of a resricter pill but taking it there is one as surely it would hold boost at 1.2, instead it dropps off slightly as per norm..
If it was running the mods mentioned without a map would there be any symptoms?
Also the manual boost controller, is that a bleed valve sort of thing? If so there isn't one.

Check the ecu as it may be a prodrive that has been fitted at some point.

Just checked ecu, it's the standard E3 unit. Si if it's running at 1.1-1.2 bar does this mean it's been mapped at some point? Maybe it's time to get de-cat, injectors and fuel pump and fork out for a remap.. :-/

check down at the turbo pipe work, a manual controller would bypass the one the car comes with sitting close to the tower, i think if the restricter pill was missing it would be lower on boost so thats not an issue, the controller if one could be a dawes device, small brass like metal thing, adjust it by turning it, lower higher boost

puzzles me that you havent hit fuel cut though, which might indicate that it has been mapped, perhaps as L.J.F says ppp

At the very least, I'd want the map checked and maybe tweaked, SOONER rather than later.

A new engine is a dear do, trust me

Oh, and bin the VTA dumpvalve before the remap.

if boost gauge is accurate then I suspect it had been mapped, worth getting it checked and tweaked as required, just to be on the safe side.

Yeah for sure.. As I said though I think the nearest decent tuner I know of is Allen jefferys which is a couple hour drive... :-/ and not heard any feedback about him?!
There is a tuner near by but only has 2wd rollers or is this something that could be done without rollers?

Alan Jeffrey's is a very very respected Subaru tuner, and a bloody good bloke too.

Fuel cut on the classics is 1.25 bar so long as the ECU is seeing boost less than that he won't hit it, saying that if he is hitting 1.2bar now he will certianly hit 1.25 when the weather chills down !

Get ECU checked as that is a huge jump in boost to not be mapped for, that's .4bar higher than it should be and that will cause the engine to pop if the map isn't tailored to suit mate.

Sorry to drag this up but thought it may be helpful for those searching for answers.. Took the car on rolling road last week, turns out the gauge is reading wrong! Running standard boost although power is up at 255
