Hi all,
i have 02 wrx sti uk prodrive style wiv PPP, for over a year now i have a knocking noise from the front of tha car sounds like the link bars, but it isnt coz they have been replaced, it has been in the garage several times but no-one can find what is causing it.
You can hear it mainly when slowly drivin over uneven road services, or if u reverse round a corner on an incline, it has just had new tyres, new discs & pads, but still the knocking noise is there, the garage has tightend up every bolt under the car to ensure nothing is loose. Any idea`s????

I know you said the noise seems to be comming from the front but it is very common for the rear struts to start knocking.....ours are at the mo & need replacing. We normally hear them when driving over uneven ground or cornering.....just a thought

 

Hi, nope def not the rear`s i had to change them last year, its def coming from tha front, tracking tyre wear is ok, just the annoying knocking noise, iv even been under the car myself when the mech is looking for it, they have even taken it for a test drive, admited they can hear it, but cannot find it,, im at a loss....

Front ARB bushes / worn ARB... had the same thing on mine.

 

Front topmounts?

il get tha garage to check the ARB & bushes, is it an easy job to check if the top mounts are worn? & if they are where would i get replacements from??
