Well, after such a positive response to Gerg’s suggestion LOL I cant be arsed writing a novel, you’ll have to wait for the ring trip for that one.
So instead here is a quick review of the stuff I have done in the time between 1K and 2K in no particular order.
Organised a charity day at Donington Park Race Circuit and Raised £1000 for Children In Need, thanks again to Mike Tuckwood, Pete Croney, Don Palmer, Simon De Banke, Richard Squires, Harj, Stef and everyone who attended and made it a great success.
Melted one turbo waist gate shaft, snapped off an exhaust blade on the replacement GroupA turbo, snapped more actuators than I care to remember LOL
Driven my Westfield on track days at Cadwell Park, Oulton Park, Donington Park, Snetterton, Silverstone GP, Knockhill, Anglesey, and the Nurburgring. Covering 7000 miles in 12 months purely from attending track days.
Given passenger laps for free to over 50 people, some more memorable than others
Melted my rear tyres at Bruntingthorpe doing doughnuts.
Driven at Santa Pod setting the 2nd fastest time for a Westfield on my one and only visit.
Driven the following Models of Impreza on road/track/frozen lake. US Spec 2.5RS, 22B, UK Turbo, PPP UK Turbo, Sti5 typeR, Sport, WRX, new WRX, 1.8GL. (justy and legacy too )
Competed in a TSD Rally in Canada with Subie Gal.
Spectated on the NetworkQ Rally GB with rsquires and Jamie, arranging a meeting between Jamie and her Hero Richard Burns with the help of scoobynet.
Survived (barely) some of Harj’s bashes, my head still hurts.
Built a new GroupA Escort Cosworth Forest Rally Car and used it on 2 rounds of the BTRDA Championship, me working as Service crew.
Attended another full season as #1 mechanic on the Esprit V8 GT car I built, best finish 2nd overall.
There is plenty more, but I don’t want to bore you (especially Harj )
I have met some fantastic people via this BBS. I have had a lot of fun and experienced some great and not so great times in the company of fellow scoobynet enthusiasts. Low point for me has to be my last lap of the Nurburgring; worst moment of my life when I thought some poor guy had died after crashing on oil from my failed engine. It was great to have the support of the Scooby guys there during that time.
High point has to be flying over to Seattle, preparing Jamie’s new Impreza in one week then competing so well in our first ever rally together up in Canada.
Not too bad considering I have a full time job to pay the bills really.

How could i forget Ronnie, smugling a City fan into Old Trafford TWICE was fun m8.
Harj, the concept behind the post count is that it goes up as you post new stuff, think about it. LOL

To be honoust JF: I am a real chicken when it comes to passenger laps - as you might have noticed
But I may just bite the bullet and accept your kind invitation this time...
Theo
PS: do you think I would physically fit in the Westie ?

Dont worry theo, I'll be gentle with you OK! LOL
And yes, you will fit, its unreal how much leg room there is in a westie.
Just renewed my insurance, the last trip to the ring has just doubled my premium!

John, while not wanting to put a dampener on this jocular thread, I'd really like to thank your for your input over the last year or two. We've never met (that West-of-field thing of yours is always broken when I turn up) but your posts have helped me enormously, and no doubt very many others too. Thanks.
But what's wrong with the novel idea? Something along the Bonnie & Clyde lines? "The Adventures of Jonnie & Subie Gal" has a nice ring to it. You don't have to kill anybody - just massacre them on track. And remember, novels are pure fiction !
Richard.
