Tracker Success?
Hi evryone,
Thinking of getting a tracker fitted, Iv been searching old threads, a few recommendations have come up,but can't find anyone claiming to have had their car recovered. Is it a waste of money, or is blackjack better? Any recomendations welcome. Thanks Richard.

The annoying thing about BJ is the disarming button.
Everytime it arms, you have to enfter a 4-digit PIN, by repeatedly pressing a button the requisite amount of times for the number e.g. "9" needs 9 presses! And you have to do that four times (for each of the PIN's 4 digits). Can get
tiresome. Why on earth it wasn't designed with a 0-9 button keyboard....!
TIP: Choose low-to-middling numbers for your PIN.
But I do like the idea that it'll cut out if it get's stolen.

ive got a tracker and an anti hijack alarm, i presume its the same as blackjack. start car up, press secret button hidden in car to deactivate alarm. if you dont, the car will drive about 200 yards before a chirping sounds. if you again dont press the button, it gets louder and more frequent untill the engine will cut out....again if you open the door after you have pressed the button, you have to do the same again.
quite a good idea i reckon....it was on the car when i got it...

when i got my first scoob i was told 'no tracker, no nsurance'
since then they've all had them fitted anyway.
on one of the cars i got a call from tracker saying the car is being moved! it was on a low loader on its way up north just after i'd sold it and despite passing on details of the new owner and transferring ownership etc they still rang me.......guess it worked (except the wrong owner!)

Are you thinking of getting a Tracker as your insurance company offer a substantial discount?
If that isn't the case, I personally wouldn't bother.
After some thieving scum had driven it would you really want it back?

I have a tracker and they ring me all the time to tell me the cars moving (when they push it in and out of the garage it's at). I called them and explained and they reduced the sensitivity, I don't get callewd till I forget to ring them and I move it on a trailer somewhere. Usually, they call within 5 minutes of it moving. I think they are a brilliant service, and can tell me exactly where the unit is (although if it's stolen that doesn't mean the unit is still with the car).
I also have a removable wheel, alarm, and good insurance.
