Sorry Craig,do you mean that the sellers are asking an over inflated price mate?
Would you say around £6k is right for an 06 wrx sti?

That's low for an 06 sti. Right for wrx of same year possibly. All depends on car, spec, condition and what you want to spend really.

Can be attributed to a number of things bud:

# mileage
# service history
# condition
# colour
# modifications
# private or trade sale
# import?

etc, etc

Just because you feel a car is underpriced/overpriced, does not mean that individual is trying to scam you

There are a lot of cr*p cars advertised cheaply.
There are many scams, particularly on Pistonheads.
Mileage, history, condition, colour, spec, number of owners all influence price.
Some folk are in a rush to sell, others aren't.
Regional price variations.
Dealer v private
Just beware that cheap cars are genarally cheap for a reason.

What I'm saying is there's alot of people out there wanting top dollar still for there car... And there's also people who are realistic and know if they want to sell there car they got to take a loss!!!!
But like said above you have to take into consideration scams, high miles, s/h etc

Good luck

Ps
Take your time mate, there's loads to choose from

Also worth noting the period you have written is around the time the tax increases ridiculously. After '55' I think?

From my experience the range is 9k to 13k, which is normal for high milers to low milers?

If they are less than 6k then they are either sh1tters or wrx's dressed as STI's and probably high miles/accident damaged.
You wont get a good hawk for that sort of cash.

^^^Exactly this

...also depends on if they have PPP fitted as that usually bumps it up by another 1k.

From the research I've done (because I am planning to buy a 06/07 hawkeye in new year some time), look for a very good condition stock model (no mods or PPP) as it probably hasn't be thrashed about, etc, and then spend about 1k on a few small mods and an ECUmap to get it to 330bhp as it will work out cheaper, more effective/faster than a PPP, and you'll know exactly what's been done to it. You can buy a "Stage1 performace pack" which includes all the neccessary mods and ECUmap to do this.

Iv got 1 of the last hawks to come out the factory, it's a 2009 car on a 58 plate , & I wouldn't let it go for a penny less than £16.500
Looking at it another way tho - if I had 10 k & a 06 sti hawk with decent mileage , I'd consider myself to be in a better situation /

£30k cars new weren't they, £6k seems too low for one just 5 or 6yrs old. Cheap for a reason at that price imho ...

As Tony said, I think it's a case of someone who can't tell a WRX from an STI.....

just be careful, there will be sh1tters that people are just wanting to sell, but there'll be some genuine ones for sale too. a low price could by from someone really desparate to sell. people change jobs or travel further, get laid off or made redundant. or just want to cut motoring costs.

it's a buyers market, but most of the good one will be more expensive
