I had one of these on my classic for a few months and it worked really really well I changed to a front mount and didn't notice any real difference!

And you know it's an "improvement" how? In what way?

You have had the map tweaked, of course?

Nice upgrade, increased capacity and wider bars between the fins. If you can find one it's certainly an improvement over standard Expensive to buy new but they do come up on ebay. Hardpipe to turbo from the back of the intercooler is much more satisfactory to the corrugated bendy pipe of the standard slanty I/C too.

Simple/better design suggests it's an improvement, but without a temp sensor to read charge temps I wouldn't dare suggest it's improving performance.

Hi
just come accross your thread on the internet, I'm in the process of fitting an ARC TMIC to my WRX as well. However i have issue with clearence under manifold inlet.

In the first photo you can see that the TMIC piping will need to go under the inlet of the manifold and on the second photo the piping goes through where the red circle is to join with the turbo. Do you have the same issue when you install your one? I'm wondering if my turbo is sitting too far forward and if its an inch back i wont need to go under the inlet of the manifold.

Thanks for the help

I had to move some stuff around and bend the bracket for the clutch return spring to make room for the hard pipe but it didn't take too long and once that was done it fitted nicely.

Thanks Paulo P, I have remove the bracket completely along with the clutch return spring to get the pipe in there. The clutch still works fine. I wonder if there is any potential issue removing the clutch return spring. The intercooler works great and give me better throttle response and induction noise over the STI item i had on previously. Definite recommended if anyone who doesnt want to go the FMIC route.

I bent the bracket flat so that I could still use the return spring and that worked for 4 to 5 months until I fitted the FMIC.

Can't decide whether to keep mine or not as I have the Hybrid FMIC off the wagon to go on if I wanted. You fix your engine mate? FWIW I had no real clearance issues but yes it is tighter but then it is bigger

Can't really see the point in one to be honest, if you really want to keep a TMIC then go with a newage STI one. Plenty good enough.

They don't fit V1/2's mate without an awful lot of faff and ballache Not to mention the Scoop undertray orientation

Totally agree with this, it's much easier on a version 3 onwards due to the inlet manifold.
