350bhp on a VF28 and top mount.....
Still looking for Impreza's for a mate and I've just come across this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3471077.htm
It's supposed to be an sti RA but it's just a 260ps wrx! the claims of 350bhp from a VF28 with a top mount sound a bit optimistic too
Some people just don't have a clue do they! When my sister was buying her classic every impreza advert I looked at stated the car was an sti but most were actually wrx's

Looking at the guys name he is possibly from Eastern Europe which would explain the spelling not a dig just an observation. Plus he may have been told that was the spec when he bought it.
So many purchase imports as advertised without really checking them out.
Tony shame on you for not spotting the rear wiper lol.

With all the supporting mods it is possible to make 350 bhp on a VF28 but everything has to be complimentary.
Also remember some rolling roads give widely differing figures. 421 bhp at Scooby Clinic is 348 bhp at MotoScope. Same car, same tank of fuel and three days apart. So take with a pinch of salt exorbitant claims of BHP unless they are supported by runs on other rollers.
Nothing to say one set of rollers is right and the other is wrong. What is important is the consistency of readings so you can stick with one set of rollers to see what works and what does not. Even between four DynoDynamics rolling roads I have used often there is still a spread of results of nearly 5%, even when looking for repeatability but atleast the results are consistent.
Many things can alter the RR "result" so without seeing a dated sheet with adequate information and probably being present to observe the run, it is a bit pointless getting into debates about who can do what with a VFxx turbo or any other turbo.
The POTENTIAL output of any turbo is related to its ability to move air. This is fairly well known and defined from published technical information and subject to housings and compressor wheels in use. After that it is down to how well modified the car is and the efficiency of the engine and set up.
Unless some guys have broken the laws of physics there are some very incredible claims out there.

Guy states in the add silver wagon,am i p***ed ,as it looks like a saloon to me . Also very big turbo which when compared to the td05 which was std on the car is a similar sort of size. My 00 wagon running 330 bhp(and graph to prove),so 350 on the mods he has mentioned is dream talk. Daz davies got close to 360 bhp with a vf28 but car was heavily modded and turbo was at its utmost limit iirc.
