Default quieter exhaust needed, what to change?

hi,

Currently my bug wrx is running full decat with a vortex bb, and while it can be entertaining it now really friggin grates on me(and my neighbours)

I'm going to change but unsure what to do.....

Should I just change the bb for a prodrive or magnex or something?

Should I get a resonated centre and maybe a milltek or ninja 2 bb as I like the jap style bb's?

Or should I refit a cat pipe, or refit a cat and change the bb?

Help i'm confused

What`s the cabin noise like and where are you based? I replaced my Prodrive bb with something very slighty different. IIRC it`s a Mongoose but not sure. Might be interested if you fancied a swap (obviously depending on location)

I run a full de- cat with a group n tsl back back and It's perfect in every way mate, nice quiet burble on tick over and has a slight rasp to it when given the beans, It's a fantastic piece if kit that you won't be disappointed in that's for sure. Bit like the prodrive box but much better in my opinion.

Revolution's own exhaust, as opposed to some others they sell, is relatively quiet and still performs well.

I am not sure why you would want to change the back box.
We would simply weld a flange to the Revolution centre section to fit the replacement back box.
I suggest you tell Revolution what you want to do and they will probably already have sleeve to flange adaptors..............................I think.

I have down pipe with cat and a resonated centre, both off a 17k GB270 up for grabs. Bit quieter with your backbox and no hassle at mot time

Cabin noise is quite loud but not so much that you can't have a conversation or hear the radio lol

Which bb are you wanting to swap? Your prodrive or the mongoose? What tailpipe design is it?

Cheers

how much would you want for them mate? And where are you based?

Still not sure what to do, maybe a resonated centre and a dif bb would be best as I wouldn't need a remap.

Although a cat would help with the upcoming mot aswell as the noise, hmm

Would just one cat Require a remap?

You might find a miltek to quiet dispite being 3' imho, if you want something a bit quieter, but still sounds nice opt for a ninja 2 . No need to use a bung and a really good compromise , not ott and will fit straight on. If I were to change my vortex then it would be for a ninja2.

I had a Scoobyworld 'Racebox' fitted until recently, very subtle exhaust note but sounds great under acceleration.

Mine is in the for sale section if you are interested !
