Default picked up my new car

Hi all, not been on here for a while. had a classic uk turbo in 07 but had to sell due to family issues

after alot of waiting and saving ive finally picked up a 2004 blobeye wrx with prodrive pack 77k, 3 owners, full subaru service history. so far very impressed it doesnt look 7years old it looks mint and its a fair bit quicker than my old 1.

right i have a few questions. apart from the prodrive kit the only mods i can see (and hear, lol) is a aftermarket exhaust, has standard airbox with uprated pannel filter and stardard re-circ valve. what bhp should it be running?

secondly ive noticed when i plant my foot at approx below 4k revs its hesitates a little before pulling... is this normal?

sorry for the essay

Saw a documentry and it featured the bugeye but I assume it applies. The guy changed the exhaust and the panel filter and the ECU was actually holding the car back because it was getting confussed with those minor mods.

i know that after an exhaust upgrade you need the ecu set up but i pressumed it had this done with the prodrive package?? if the exhaust was fitted after would it need to be redone and would i lose the bhp the prodrive package gave by doing so?

Also i thought that it only needs to be set up if you replace the air box with a induction kit?? this still has the airbox just a pannel filter.

And yeah i saw that episode lol

The prodrive package is what you would call a factory package so it doesn't compensate for an aftermarket exhaust. You will gain more bhp from a custom remap. No even if the airbox is standard the panel filter has been changed. I would get an ECUtek remap done if I was you.

People will say just change the panel filter. But I use a K&N cold air induction kit in the wing. Its just prefference really lol.

Remap there are quite a few mappers on here where abouts are you mate.

Try JGM or Simon as he is called, very helpful guy on here and travels to you to remap. There is also Thwaites Developmets in the West Midlands.

Who said it would be louder the turbo makes more noise lol so you can't hear the induction kit.

Get yourself to the WMI section mate and have a look at the mappers I mentioned. If it is in the West Midlands and your part of WMI then you do get discount and someplaces.

go with a green panel filter or K&N panel filter, the power you goin to run these will be perfect.
As for scooby clinic, never been myself buy from what I have heard a top place with some great guys and some very nice looking motors too.

It should have no hesitation! Why not take it back to the dealer and tell them It's not running correctly?
