As a guide, most say that any more than 350bhp is on borrowed time, but some have run more with no problems and some have blown up under 320bhp.
300bhp is safe, put it that way.

Keep tuning it until it goes bang then you'll know.
Very difficult question to answer and in reality there is no correct answer. Every car has been treated differently so will have different limits.
For me personally, I'd never consider taking a standard classic engine beyond 300bhp.

As said above anything above 350bhp is pushing your luck and most tuners won't push a standard engine past 330bhp anyway and you'll need a new turbo long before you get that far!
