It'll be a version 8 and should be a blob eye and they do have forged pistons from the factory.

Cheers chaps.
If the pistons R the hyperEutetic ones, do they suffer from the ring land breaking like in the 2.5?
Cheers

Piston are not forged but ARE just as good mate.
And no, do not suffer same issues as 2.5.

Newage STI engines (2.0) are very strong. Seen one on here making 500 with no issues and many run 450 through standard internals. I'm somewhere between 400 and 450 with my STI 9 block and all is well (runs off and touchs nearest wooden object, lol).

Paulo, from what ive read the pistons run zero bore clearance because the block expands at the same rate as the pistons.

That could explain why they are quiet from cold unlike the early forged motors I've heard I have a 2005 sti short motor in mine and it's dead silent even from cold and I wondered why.
