Default Smurfs on bumpers

Was driving into town last night and several cars had a smurf on either a tow bar or tow hook on the rear. What's that all about???

Jap drift cars usually have them! Some sort of teddy hanging over the exhaust and if they pop a flame bye bye teddy haha. Different story in a 1.1 corsa though!

There was a thread about this last week.

Apparently it stems from drifting boys in Japan. They hang items from their tow hooks and see what angle they can get them to while going sideways.
