These cars will make 150mph but they aint designed for that as in Japan the limit is 120mph. I am pretty sure that after 120mph the aerodynamics cause the intercooler scoop starts to become less effective and then inlet temps rise.......
Prolonged high speeds can lead to engine failure

Top speed is around the 150MPH mark, 154 i think.
It is supposed to be limited 155MPH.
The hawk sti is geared to around 200MPH.
For road, it doesn't matter what the top speed is, it's how it gets their that counts lol.

I heard that it was geared for over 200MPH on here and just checked it now.
2.5 UK STi 6TH GEAR RATIO: 0.707
Tyre size is 225/45/17
Final drive for 2006-2007 6MT:3.545
Rev limit:7250
I used a top speed calculator and it came out with 214MPH.

Ive seen 155mph in my RB320 and it was still climbing. I read about a standard RB cloicked at 170mph on an autobahn.
I worked the gearing out at 183.4 mph at the redline in 6th gear.

think you might find the hawk box will do a little more than 180mph.mine will go just past 160 in 5th on the clock.i have never had mine to its full rpm in 6th,nor would i want to.my speedo only reads 160 so i carnt really say what top speed i have done but the needle has been right down the bottom into the digital bit and the car was nowhere near the redline.i'd say if you wanted to hold it in 6th gear, that it would probably do 200mph.

I have a standard 2006 hawk sti, and had the opportunity to test it on some private land.
Speed is electrically limted at 160mph at around 5900rpm, it will not go off the clock as hits fuel cut. id say it'd be good for at least 180-190 on standard rev limit which is just a tad over 7k rpm.
As mentioned its a rally car and is designed to get there not stay there.

My owners manual says 154MPH...so thats what i tell people. I have honestly never tried to prove it right or wrong. So i just quote the book figure.
Same with Prodrive's claimed 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds...never wanted to wreck my cars transmission to see if its accurate.
