What are the VED costs of different years newage Impreza?
So:-
Bugeye
Bugeye STI
Blobeye
Blobeye STI
05 Blobeye
05 Blobeye STI
55 hawk
55 hawk STI
06 Hawk
06 hawk STI
And finally, can you get a Spec D on a 55 plate?
I guess very early bugs are on the old system?
I ask because I want to make sure I know how much the tax is going to be for each car.
Please no "if you can't afford £500 tax bla bla" it irks me to pay several hundred pounds a year more for what is exactly the same car. £250/£260 well OK if I have to but £500 or so for the same car is just nonsense.

I have a 2001 bug import and i believe it misses the cutoff for the new regs by mere weeks.
I pay £118.25 for 6 months and £215 for the year.
Any newer cars will, i believe pay considerably more than that

I have a 54 plate Blobeye WRX 2.0L thats about £225 a year.
I also have a JDM Hawkeye STI 2.0L thats also £225 a year.
The Hawk was the car that first had the new 2.5L engine fitted (6-12 months into it's life i think). All Impreza's since then have the 2.5L engine - unless it's a JDM car they still use the 2.0L i do believe.
If it has the 2.5L engine basically double the above numbers for the tax.

Thanks.
It does seem to make a difference on price of 55 plate hawks compared to 06 plate hawks - or at least the 55 plates sell quicker than the 06s.
If I could get a Spec D on a 55 plate that would be cool.
If I couldn't find a 55 and it had to be an 06 well I'd think about it but it does seem a bit of a con.
Makes me laugh that my 1999 Jeep is a straight 6 4.0L and I just paid £218 for 12 months. It would easy by in the £450 bracket if it were released now - it would be like paying 50% of the price of the vehicle each year to keep it on the road

Most STis are in Band K. So anything from before 23rd March 2006 is cheaper. There may be the odd 06 plate car that was registered before this date (assuming that 06 came out on 1st March 2006), but I suspect not many.

It all depends on when it was registered like everyone else has said. Car tax is so expensive.
