New member, new car..
Hey all, just got my first Subaru so thought Id get on here so all you lovely people can help me out with any problems I may come across (Subaru.. Problems?!)
Im Steve, Im a 21 year old mechanic from Blackpool, Lancs, Im a classic Ford man really, currently own my terracotta mk1 Fiesta and my blue mk3 Capri (in the paintshop having a full respray), but I thought Id try my first Subaru.. I love it!!
The car is a 95 (N) in silver with 'Cusco' graphics, I dont really know what model it is because like I say its my first and its a grey import? So it just says Subaru basically on log book.. Was hoping to get some pics up and maybe you guys could help me work out what it is/has? The lad told me it had alsorts but theres no proof so I dont know..
Luckily though it was only imported a couple of years ago so arches, sills etc are perfect
Havent hardly driven it yet, doing the sensible thing and putting a timing belt on first, but when I rang to price it, he mentioned tensioner assemblies and idler bearings and alsorts adding to a fair amount.. What do you guys recommend you replace? Also, the lad told me the car has an STi engine and TD05 20G turbo, although there is no proof, is there any way I can tell?
Thanks
Steve.

Hello and welcome steve
Without any pics we cant really assist you that much, but if you put up the chassis code, found on the metal plate on the passenger side suspension top (GC8B****) someone will be able to id the original model for you.
Happy scooby ownership

Thanks Yeah i love em, just frightened of using them in anything other than sunshine (3 days a year?), at least the scooby is half useable lol..
Just encountered my first problem.. Started to strip down timing area, its got a front mount and is hard piped so need to move a boost pipe, whoevers done it has obviously fitted it all with bumper off, now I cant get the pipe out the way as a clip is hard up against the back of the bumper.. Looks like the bumpers coming off then.. Grrr

The applied model code can be used to determine which model it is.
