I think that reflects the scoob though... the amount of grip you get outa the box is massive and the car can really cope with more power.. Yes its not a "great" handling car but its still good... also most people dont take there cars to trackdays and I find I very rarely (if ever) corner on the limit as you never know whats around the corner... however I always want more power outa the corners when u can see

Theres not too much else you can really tweak on suspension (cheeply).. hence all the dawes / ecutec posts...

Agree on the brake upgrades etc.. but what can you say? How do I fit my new 6 pot alcons? I for one will never work on the brakes coz I dont trust myself to get it correct. I think I'll always pay someone (Len ) to do it. whereas replacing an air filter? tweaking boost settings if I have a dawes... etc.. I'm quite happy to try

wow talk about inane ramblings.. sorry

...who thought that the quality of posts on ScoobyNet was going down hill, have you looked in the technical forums lately? Check out Drivetrain to see ScoobyNet at it's brilliant best (and it's been like that for months)

I'd agree - I think the technical forums are pretty good.
I rarely look on these pages though as they're usually just full of crap posts from spotty youths arguing about who's the biggest spoiler

[edited ti remove unfair comments ]
yes there is a lot of repeated information but there’s always something new there, some little gem of knowledge.

drivetrain is the most interesting although the muppetshow never fails to make me laugh

I don't really go in the techie type sections that much but when I have been in, everyone is very helpful and goes out of the way to help people out. Yeah maybe some posts do get repeated but I've found out a lot more from reading about the same stuff from different angles than I ever would from from one post.
The less said about the muppet forum. Daren't go in there without someone to hold my hand.

Thumbs down

the only point is that there is an unbalanced amount of threads between the drivetrain and suspensions. this means people are more interested in hp than having a good suspension setup which is in reality the most important way to go FAST along with brakes!

I understand what you mean.

I prefer to have 20 hp less with a more reliable engine and spend my money in a full kit of suspensions ( Adjustable is better so I can "play" with them trying to find the best setup for the different roads/weather conditions).

But there is an latin expression that states "De gustibus disputandum non est" -- tastes are tastes!!

Cheers
