What sort of time period can V-Power and meth be kept before it starts to lose its potency ?

 

id also be interested in knowing this....anyone?

 

its all depends what you store it in and what conditions

 

so for example?.......

 

my best mate works for shell and he said a year no problem but it really depends on how you store it and where you store it

 

what turbo you running matty?

 

Kept in 25 liter plastic containers in my garage.

Does this apply for meth too buddy ?

 

meth would store for a year if the containers were unopened but why would you want to store v-power?

In a sealed environment like the fuel tank in a car it should be okay for at least a month. Methanol will absorb moisture from the atmosphere if allowed to do so, that will affect purity.

Had the car mapped in early December and had a container of VPower left over. Haven't used the car much so its not until now that I need to fill the tank.

Meth is in a sealed plastic container.

 

Put some no smoking signs up lol

Get mine from jennychem. Have it delivered in 25 liter containers at about £24 each. I was gonna go with a drum but as the car is not used that much I decided against it.
Only had to top the tank up today and it was no bother at all mate. Got myself a little tap for the container, a measuring jug and a funnel.

From now on I'll just stick 5 liters of meth into a fuel can and then drive over to the shell. Pour the meth in and then 20 of VPower.. Simple as that.

I dont use jennychem as its dearer than my current supplier. I got 205 ltrs for £105 + Postage £30. works out at 66p a ltr roughly

 

looking around on google etc there seems to be no shelf life at all really........if the container is unopened and remains so for 10,15 or 20 years you will still have meth.........as soon as the container gets opened whatever shelf life it will or does have goes as it has been exposed to the atmosphere.......how much water it absorbs is anyones guess as then you have to think about the percentage of meths you have in your fuel mix etc etc........so to be on the safe side its defo not good to leave it in the tank for weeks/months on end

My car has been run on meths constantly for the past 3 years.........I do as mattyB does and buy 25 litre drums and sometimes smaller so that I get the best out of it I can..........Its more expensive granted but you get better product as If you were to buy a 205l drum it would constantly be getting opened so more chance of the meth absorbing moisture..........as per my post above though I don't buy from jennychem as they are rip offs compared to other companys like trinity-research and others.

 

Don't worry about storage Matt,I haven't turned the key in mine for literally 7 weeks and it fired up fine today to drive into the workshop mate.
Tbho it's down to it not being the norm that we are used to that we worry about if this or that will be ok with meth.
Obviuosly I'm not saying it will be ok for a massive period here ie months and months on end.

 

Trinity research dont give correct measures as i found out, 25ltr drum ordered as a temp solution for mapping day and was only 22ltrs in it what a rip.
I tend to discharge 25ltrs at a time into small drums which solves the problem of the big drum being opened and closed all the time.

 

I got 2 25L containers of meth, one tap and one empty 25L container for under £60 delivered from jennychem. Not sure if they had a deal on or not but that seemed a very fair price and was delivered the next day.
