Novice looking for guideance
Hi guys I currently own a mk2 focus RS in Green I am looking at coming over to the dark side, i have always been a ford boy having previously owned the mk1 rs racing puma etc but now seems a good time to convert, Im after a bit of advice once i sell the focus £10k is going towards a house deposit and £10k on a car including insurance (insurance is £1200 im 22) I love the look of the hawk eyes but have been told the engines arent as strong as the blob eye, im after a wrx sti, found a few nice examples on pistonheads and got to say i cant wait to get one but i dont want to rush into it. Now i no these cars arent built for fuel efficency (niether was the focus) i currently get about 15-20mpg from the focus should i be expecting alot less from the scoob (i no its all down to how you drive etc) Also what is 'safe' power on a standard lump i lie the look of the PPP and think 305 would be adequate for me. What are running costs like? how much is service? how often does it need to be serviced? common faults/problems? recalls? etc any help much appreciated

focus`s pretty cars but slow, get a well specced (forged )scooby, there was a forged blobeye running 500 odd hp for 8k the other day, and you won`t know what hit you. you`ll have to do lots of research to understand what goes on with them. if you want a standard car nothing too bad goes wrong with them, if you want a tuned animal you`ll have to learn about them.
i`m not going to mention big ends oh i just have

You a local lad by the looks of things seeing as Birchy knows you. Come to some of the meets mate.
You should get better mpg then that mate. Mine is running at max low end and top end because of a maf issue and I see 15 mpg urban.
Don't bother with a ppp get a standard STI and get a remap you will see better performance etc.
Just becareful when buying one as loads of people advertise their WRX as STI. There are a few tell tell signs. Give any of us guys a shout when you go to look at one.
