Default Leak through rear spoiler

Hi All

One minor issue ive found with my new car is that the boot is leaking through the rear spoiler, it's coming in through the hole that carries the wires for what i presume is the spoiler brake light. Whats the best course of action with this? I went into a local garage earlier who told me that i should seal around the entire edge of the spoiler with black silicone (as mine is a black car) - however someone else told me to take the spoiler off and bung the hole where it's coming in.

Any advice appreciated.

I would remove the spoiler and renew the seals, which are a sort of foam. Dealers, maybe?

Or use some of this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...All-Categories

An unbroken circle about 10mm thick around each hole before replacing.

DO NOT use silicone. It will leak again.

DO NOT use Sika-Flex, Tiger-seal etc if you EVER want the spoiler off again.

The stuff I've recommended stays non-setting. It will seal, but if you NEED the spoiler off , it will allow it
