Well better than I thought!
I've discussed bits about my mapping session Saturday gone but I've just had my graphs emailed by Bob Rawle.
I have to say, I'm very impressed with what was gained from the small modifications list...
Resonated 3" catback
Decat 3" heatwrapped downpipe
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Green cotton panel filter
Now supposedly my car as standard is 215bhp and smiliar torque? It's 13 years old next month and Bob's graph shows my actual results as...
283.8 bhp and 317.4 lbft of torque
On the standard TD04
I'm quite chuffed with that, was mapped on the road too, not rollers.
I have one small issue at full boost (approx 1.45-1.5 bar) but this is something me and Bob are looking at. Aside from that it drives nearly the same around town but when you press the loud pedal the initial kick is harder and it pulls longer and harder thanks to the pretty substancial percentage of torque increase.
I'll try get the graph up but it's not very exciting, just two curves showing bhp/torque
So many, may thanks to Bob Rawle and his expertise. He really is as good as people say and I used him on recommendation. Communication is also top notch too as we are going through little things to sort this niggle out.

seems quite alot of gain, nearly 75 horses from what is pretty standard mods
panel filter, couple of bhp
decat and cat back, what, 20 bhp at best
i thought a faster flowing fuel pump only made a difference if bigger injectors were used
Not doubting the gains, but going on those mods, i`d gain 100 bhp with the little extras i have LOL
i guess thats what a good mapper does, utilises the best out of what you have
enjoy the power

There have been a few people make 300bhp on a std td04,and similar mods.
Nice result by the way ,280+ bhp in a car that starts to spool up a tad over 2100 rpm,and can still be used as a daily driver .

Thanklyou gents. I guess it's to do with the fuelling and custom mapping to my style. Either way I'm not really fussed by figures, that's for down the pub etc. It drives lovely with a lot of extra poke. The extra boost is good but the torque feels like a powerful diesel when it's on full chat. Very forceful from a standard Mpreza point of view to this.
Is standard torque around the 220-230lbft for a classic UK facelift?

A bog std car ,can make 40 -50 bhp after a remap on its own, and removing all the cats and increasing the exhaust from 2.5 to 3' can see anything from 25 - 30+ bhp ,panel air filter will add 2 - 4 bhp,so easily achievable. The fuel pump will just make sure that the fuel is being delivered at the higher end of the rpm range and prevent it running lean,as well as the std one being 10+ yrs old now,so an upgrade is always advisable when upping the power.

As good as mate, 48% in a std car is awesome , just remember that your std 4 pots struggle with 215 bhp ,so it might be worth just upgrading your discs & pads to cope with the extra grunt imho.
Interestlingly your car made the same torque as my old 99 car with a vf28.Post your graph up as well ,as it would be nice to see the torque curve.

You'll be back for more though...
As a teaser.... Did you know there is a set up that will get you 470/480 bhp/lbs ft and it will develop 1bar in 4th at 2700... you'll have to change "a few" bits though
Shusssssh, don't tell anyone!!!

Thanks guys. I'll have to remind you that I'm still a 3rd year apprentice, despite my mature 27 years and this not on a stupendous wage. That and I have a young family and one mediocre wage coming in stipulates I just haven't got the financial means. Remembering 3 1/2 years ago I nearly lost everything after losing my previous employment through medical grounds. The Subaru was bought for a good price (£1400) and I had all the above done for £500 which represents good value re. the results. Had a decat anyway, so...
ECU licensed to Bob Rawle - £140 (spooks)
Bob Rawle wiped said map and mapped to my car £280
Walbro 255 pump sourced new on here - £60 (53)
Green cotton filter that had done 60 miles - £20
So until I have the means as I run the Subaru on a tight ship (work on it myself or mates rates for a local Jap nut) it will stay in this state I think. I've got priorities and the above was my Christmas indulgence Her in doors got a laptop
Actually if it wasn't for Halifax over charging me illegally on my mortgage for two years then the above wouldn't have happened as I'm in credit currently.
Thanks again for the comments, just got my refurbed Speedline Turini's to put on now

Too easy to **** away money on a pissing contest which you can never win, in any case. Life is too short to spend all your money on a poxy car!!

Just a quick question, how can you get power graphs when you are not on a dyno, i know mappers can estimate the bhp/torque using gps, is this a new bit of kit that has come out,
Glad your happy with it matey, now enjoy

Good figures though, Andy.
Oh, and to re-iterate;
So you could do with a set of AP 6 pots... er, for example. Now, if only you knew someone who had some of those going unused.

Great figures COB, i'm hoping for the same sort of results when i get my car mapped at the end of the month.
Is your torque figure the norm after a remap on a TD04? i thought the torque figures were similar or slightly lower on the 2.0 litre engines
