Yeah i always thought evos were a bit quicker as they had more power out the box excluding RB320 and cs400 with their fq 320,360 and 400 but the scoobs were a better daily driver and just as quick in the real world.

Here's my old on I had for 5 years.
Still miss it sometimes.this type R is a little quicker in a straight line, and keeps you on you're toes a bit more.
The Evo did handle a bit better than the scoob. It was an Evo 3 so didn't have AYC.I don't like driving aids.
It never let me down once.
My favourite is................,ok I still can't decide.Love em both.
Danny.

ref 03 sti
and

03 evo
0.2 of a sec quicker to 60 and 5mph higher top speed goes to the evo . this is just the first example i came across with googles help , so would stand by my original statment . evo's may be marginally quicker but a scoob will handle better and possibly do a quicker lap (track dependant). confirm's what i originally thought .

Not a lot in it in the real world.
Had 2 Evo's (VIII & IX). Beat some scoobs, lost to some scoobs. Always respected both makes.
Now looking for a V4/V5 typeR or Sti bug to make the switch.

Now if you go for my MY03, 4.3 to 60, 276 (quoted) bhp, 290lbs of torque (factory figures of 280ps/290lbs) it sort of moves the goal posts a little
You could if you wished, quote the evo 260 v the my05 uk sti, much better comparison as anything else is actually a JDM model when it comes to evo's in the uk

@ Tony.....
.....You can't use Evo 260 figures as everyone knows their not a real Evo!! Plus they have a ****ty 1st gear rev limit.
And the manufacturers claims are always exaggerated.
0-60 times for a VIII MR RS (jdm) and VIII FQ300 (ukdm) are oft found quoted as the same but the RS has less weight, RS short ratio box, etc etc......
