Question

Does anyone use this product on their cars?
Does it stop the the stone chips, any idea of pricing?

Cheers,
Mark.

Hi Mark,

I know some people on the BBS use it and swear by it. Personally I consider it VERY expensive and unreliable since it won't protect all of the bodywork.

Take the bonnet, it only protects the leading edge by about 4ins. Most of the stone chips I had were above this. I ended up getting my bonnet resprayed for about £75 with much better results.

I also fitted some decent mudguards to protect the side of the car from stone chips. Touch wood, after 2 yrs I don't have any.

The main problem seems to be protecting your doors from plonkers hitting them when left in car parks. Some colour coded bump strips should sort that problem.

Here's a link to my original thoughts

Thumbs up

Armourfend

Yes it is a little on the pricey side but I have absolutely no complaints with it. My car is stone chip free (2 years old). Compared with my previous car (MY96) which had no Armourfend, I definitely prefer the results.

Yes you can get panels re-sprayed, but how long before more chips then degrade the newly sprayed panels, then there are the risks of colour matching etc etc.
