I have a 1993 turbo I am wanting to install an oil pressure and oil tempreture gauges and am wondering where to put the sender units. Are the oil filter sandwich plates any good on eBay or should I stay away from them if so whee can I get a good one from???

i wouldnt use them personally, there is a blanking plug under cylinder 3 for the oil temp and the pressure plug is under the alternator.
if you do a search there a some fitting guides on the net.

Depending on wha gauge you are using, and therefore, on the size of the senders, the best places for them are:

Oil PRESSURE: in the tappings on the front upper face of the block, just behind the alternator.
This can then take the place of the OE oil pressure SWITCH that sits in those tappings.

Alternatively, if you want the switch as well, or if your new sender won't physically fit, you need one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IMPREZA-WR...item1c238e8566

OR SIMILAR, there ARE others out there.

Oil TEMPERATURE: (note spelling)

This goes into the tappings in the TOP of No. 3 cylinder, not UNDER it. The tappings are closed off by a bung, which has an 8mm hex hole in it. To remove it, use a long 8mm hex key of GOOD QUALITY. You can see this down in front of the turbo, and it's easier to get at it if you remove the intercooler.
Most senders will need an adaptor to fit into that tapping, your gauge supplier will be able to sell you one, they are about £5

You WILL get told to use sandwich plates etc, but trust me: the above are where Subaru intended the gauges to go.
Put the senders there.
