hello,

my name is jan and i am a car photographer from germany.
on the first weekend in march, we want to shoot a story about the car/tuning scene on the weekend at southend on sea. i am looking for people who are interested in taking part of this story, it is for a german car magazin called ramp, we would like to show cars and their owners and the way how they come together......

i heard about the cruise to southend on sea at this weekend, that would fit perfect!

hi fella,

the scoboy scene in ESC (essex scooby crew) has tailed off over the last few years. however, stick you post in the essex scooby crew section as there is still the monthly cruise on this weekend, am sure those that still go will want their car in a magazine

It has alittle but there is a good few of us still going down there will be interesting tho, look in the essex section to see where we meet and come down and say hello

Thats such a shame, would make the trip every week as it was always well worth it!

 

Its pretty good tho for the "family" people as its a bit more welcoming now. I use to be there every weekend back in the day

Has any body told Jan where to meet? Surely Cruising down from basildon would get some good photos and start for the article? Also as scooby_bigal has been asking about active members, would this not be a great night to start with trying to get more people out and active?

 

i didnt think southend happened these days? back in the days i remember queing at the round about to try and get down the sea front but now they changed all the lay out and put speed bumps every where lol

 

i went on the meet at the start of feb (the night it snowed!) i have only been to a few and iv heard how busy it used to be from a esc point of view, but i used to go southend years ago when you qued the whole way up and down the front, but was very surprised at how many cars were on the front by the casino. Apparently the 1st saturday of every month is now a general meet for all cars so maybe its making a bit of a comeback!

 

has anybody got the full address including postcode for the meeting point at Basildon Tesco?

Thats a good point mate. Should get some nice shots of the subarus driving down to southend

 

hopefully we could post them on here then start building some positive interest. I know i certainly like the thought of my car in a mag as well. I definately want to attend a few more events this year. Certainly give me a welcome break from all the wedding planning!
