Subaru Legacy - Buying Advice !?
#1
Hi everyone !
Please could someone tell me what variations there are of the Legacy (1992+) ? I'm after the 2ltr turbo saloon - from what i can see they are rare !! Any suggestions on places to look ?
Is this the top end model or is there one above that ??
Cheers !

There is only one UK model 91J - 95M, available as saloon or estate. A back issue of Evo magazine did a used feature including the Legacy - the car shown was one I used to own a few years ago.
197bhp as standard - basically the same as the original 94L Impreza Turbo.
Autotrader's used car search is as useful as any.
Parts are very expensive, but the specialist breakers still have most bits. Clutch / flywheel combination may need replacing so budget for this when looking around.
An excellent 'Q' car - no-one (BMW, Merc drivers) knows what it is!

Recently sold my 'M' reg Legacy turbo estate. I used Autotrader web site and the response was excellent. Great car. never felt nervous about parking and leaving it , afterall, who's going to take a boring looking estate car. Never attracted attention from the boys in blue either. Best bit- the looks of other drivers as it left them standing and wondering. I had the car for 5 years and just needed to replace the clutch in addition to regular servicing.

Get a saloon, much nicer looking vehicle. After 'losing' mine I would have gone for another but wanted something newer than '94!
I'm still not convinced that the Impreza is the better car! - both excellent!
