Default Genuine Question Here Guys,re Engine...

Hey Chaps,

am just thinking about the ej20 engine, and tuning as i may be able to get one relatively cheap, all working, running,no issues.

i was thinking about cams, and have looked into the obvious tomei, hks range and have been looking at cat cams and they have a set up that has caught my eye.

could someone please give me the standard inlet and exhaust cam settings please, say on a wrx import 94.

i know some people will say cams are not needed until x amount of power, the same as with st.st exhaust manifolds.

however,i am a firm believer that as turbo boost is effectively a by product of the engine power, then the better your engine revs up and breathes, the better your turbo will perform,so cams could be a good thing, although pricey.

have seen some vids on youtube of imprezas with 272 crower cams and they sound well rough, like about to die,is this due to the unequal manifold burble? would it be time to go equal length if cammed to run better?

anyone with knowledge/experience, help/comments appreciated.

thanks in advance

cheeRS

You'd be better off trying to source a set of sti version 3 heads, with their better flow characteristics and lumpier cams.
