Is anyone else running a classic with no turbo heatshield fitted? Mine didnt have one when i purchased it and now wondering if thats why the check engine light comes on once shes warmed up plus all the silly fault codes shes giving me.

Haven't got one on mine mate. Never been an issue.

Took mine off when fitting de cat front pipe and never re fitted it and have never had a problem with any lights on it.

so long as the downpipe is wrapped and you have a turbo blanket cant see a problem i ran mine withoutone for 6mths no problem at all.

I don't have any heat shields nor a turbo blanket or wrapped downpipe. No problems whatsoever, can't see why it would throw a CEL light on anyway chap.
You must have other issues, have you not checked what codes it's throwing up ?

thanks guys.. Loads of codes that dont make sense as engine would even run with these codes.. Just wondered if extra heat was messing up wiring as she runs fine first 15mins of starting.. Back to the drawing board then!

defo got other problems nothing to do with having no heat shield.

I cut mine in half so that the top of turbo is shielded against the TMIC

Many imprezas have the heat shields missing, they rust and then rattle so get thrown away.
