drop links...
i just changed a broken drop link yesterday on my classic for the mot re-test and thought to myself why are they plastic do all cars or all subaru's use plastic as oem drop links? whats the difference? i would of thought metal are stronger and would last longer but i read on a few other forums that plastic are better and last longer, obviously plastic are cheaper to buy and they must be safe or why do they put plastic ones on from the factory...

yes i needed it to pass the mot on saturday and cant afford to replace all but anyway before i would consider changing them i would like to know the difference. i know theyre sold as upgrades to i would imagine give a stiffer more rigid ride but because there isnt anything on the internet about people with subaru's changing from plastic to metal and the differences i looked on other car forum well did a google search and lots of people said that had tried both that the metal ones brake quicker but i know know what to believe so thats why i asked on here. if they put plastic on from new they must be ok and safe also do all cars or all subaru's have plastic drop links as standard?
