I remember seeing an excellent article on how to upgrade the horn(s) on the Impreza, but I am bu88ered if I can remember where I saw it. It was a step-by-step idiot guide and it was written by a Brit, perhaps even someone of the BBS. Any ideas???

Thanks PTMW
Actually they are a powder blue colour and there is 2 of them. You obviously have something a little different. I will have a look around.

That was gonna be my response but I didn't want to hijack someone else's serious thread and get it moved to the Muppet Show!!!
Seriously, do a search in General and perhaps Electrical and you should find loads of stuff.

Can't recall the details but essentially go & buy a set of tuned car horns from Halfords @ about £15 & replace the existing items with these. They are bloody loud & are what there should have been in the first place

Only one's they had in Halfords were made by Ring @ £15.00. Are these the one's? What I really need to find is the step-by-step instructions I saw on the net.

Are they the red & black ones? Relay in the kit?
Is so, they is them & bloody loud too
Had 'em on Minis and motorbikes. Watch cars swereve away when you come up beside 'em on a bike & toot! Think you're a juggernaut Invaluable courier aid
I can't remember the instructions, but basically take a feed to the horn & attach to relay & take power direct from battery to relay & connect new horns to the relay - I could do it The horns should mount in the same positions as the current 2 weedy efforts.
I'll try & get sunilp to send you an email with instructions as I know he did it.

Beware: I have had two sets of the powder blue system from halfords... both stopped working after an unreasonably short time... First set was exchanged for the second... didn't bother doing that again. Oh, and there was nothing wrong with the way they were installed, before that's suggested.

I suggest that there was something wrong with the way Moray installed his airhorns.
Just because you say there wasn't does not mean I should believe you. After all, you wouldn't knowingly install them wrongly so perhaps your mistake was beyond the limits of your knowledge as an airhorn installer.

Thanks Raymond. That was the site I was looking for. Think I might have found some horns at lunchtime as well. Not air-horns, but 112db all the same.

Got them from Economy Spares in Yeadon Tel:0113 250 4649. Cost just under £13.00 for one high and one low pitch, and I used the existing wiring and spade connectors. Don't know model # - just ask the man about the Wipac horns. I am going to NM5 if anybody wants a listen. Much cheapness compared to Hella and Friam.

I was unimpressed with the ring horns, but then found that one of the air hoses had a kink in it, so I was only using the high pitched swallow-fart horn (that may not be the official Ring name).
I too will be at NM5. Could be a loud day

Actually Morag,
I have found the edit icon, with the www being so large, it would be inconceivable to have a keyboard with specific buttons for specific websites, also they would not be future proof.
PS. It looks like there is going to be a north west london meet sometime soon. With you being so nearby, I was wondering if you might attend.
Check the southern section as last time I looked London was in the south.
NB to SDB, I think there should be a london section in the events section of the BB. Suggetsing that London is in the south will cause people to think that it is not a separate entity, merely a substantial fraction of a larger area. People may also be disillusioned into thinking they can go "down" to london, when everyopne knows you can only ever go "up" to London.
Flame suit not required, because I am right.

Hark @ Adam...
BTW - being right does not stop people from flaming you so you should slip into your asbestos suit anyway....

My flame suit is merely is a placebo, as the knowledge that I am right in itself protects me from the ridicule, I was expecting from those living beyond the M25.
