Has anyone any experience of the original version of these compared to the new uprated version now being offered by AST?
I've taken mine for a rebuild and could have them left as they were or with their new revised internals for an extra £60 per unit. I've gone for the original specification, but I wondered if there was anyone who has tried both and could say if the extra money is worth spending.
They're from a 2005 model Litchfield Type 20 Blob incidentally.
Thanks folks.

Hi mate, I'm not too sure what the differences are - trying emailing AST directly, they are always very helpful:
Peter Versantvoort [peter@ast-suspension.com]
By the way, while you're coilovers are off the car, would you mind weighing them? I'd be very interested to hear how much they weight versus the stock suspension.

Thanks for the reply.
I've taken them to be rebuilt by AST at Tewkesbury who explained the technical differences to me, but I wanted to know if anyone had any actual experience of using them and could say whether it's worth me spending an extra £288 or not.
I suspect I won't be able to tell the difference, hence I've gone for the cheaper option, but if it is worth it, I was hoping someone would know and be able to explain why.
I'll have them back next weekend, all being well, and stick them on the bathroom scales for you before I re-fit them, although the car never had the stock suspension so I won't be able to offer a comparison between the two I'm afraid.
Or you could try e-mailing AST directly - apparently they're always very helpful. (Sorry, it's "April Fool's Day" here and I just couldn't resist that!)
