Default anyone know this type R for sale?

A friend of mine is looking at Impreza's and he has found this one for sale in Slough

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...#ht_500wt_1287

There is no mention of important things like an uprated turbo, injectors, clutch or gearbox so I find the 400bhp figure hard to believe and it looks like the front of the car is heavily stone chipped. It could have a rebuilt engine with Cosworth bits but without the bolt on parts surely it wouldn't be making more than 350bhp?

What are the limitations of the ecutek ecu?

Does anyone know the car or have any opinions? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Around 370bhp... you should be looking to upgrade to a standalone ECU (Simtek etc)

Thanks, I wasn't sure of the capabilities but I didn't think it'd do much more than 400bhp so for the 600bhp he claims it'll also need an ecu as well as loads more stuff.

It looks like it may have had some stuff removed since then from how I'm reading it plus the seller seems very vague.

This car has been off and on for sale for ages now! I noticed it a while back when I was hunting, was on for quite some time too (same price) but on different wheels. I would be very wary buddy

In classics its a MAF, which is a limiting factor I suppose. That's why for more than 370bhp MAFless ecu is a must
