rear shock rebuilding

i ve got an 06 sti spec d, and guess what ? thats right, the rear shocks are shot ! popping and clunking at low speeds, i ve already been down the coilover route before and dont fancy the money , i was wondering if anyone knows of any companys that rebuild shock absorbers,
im in accrington near blackburn so im looking at lancashire area,
any help would be great.

The knocking is usually the gas shock inside the strut body.
You can do it yourself easy enough. I've done the rears on mine. Just take the shock off and remove spring, undo the nut that holds the insert and slip it out. Then you can clean out the hard grease in there and apply some fresh grease to stopit knocking.
If it's the actual insert that's blown then you'd be better off buying a new shock (or two)
There is also always the chanceit could be the top mount.

Cheers, I think it is the grease drying out as the car sort of settles sometimes when you set off, what sort of grease do you put back in ?
