my locking nut broke today, is the only way to get it off , to weld a nut onto it and unscrew it off.
will order another lock nut but that might brake?
is this happened to anyone else?
cheers.

I used a punch and hammer when it happened to me on an old mk4 escort i had. sounds very brutal i know but i was stuck on the side of a major road with a flat tyre and it worked. you could use a rubber mallet if your worried about hitting your alloy

Yep,I have used the socket method a few times with success.
Make sure you have a very good quality socket with lots of teeth & bang it on square.

wouldnt have thought aa or anyone else would do it unless you are broken down,??
dont weld nut on if you have alloys on, as it fuses nut to wheel!
knocking socket over only works with certain lockers , if the outside spins it wont work !
locking nut removal tools are best bet! , but buy a quality set as cheap ones are s**t and not worth buying!!
and i am speaking with LOTS of experence here!
good luck and be careful if you have counter sunk nuts!

Well my breakdown service said they couldnt take the nuts off so they said they would take me to the garage.
So i said leave it may aswell do it myself.
Just off to some garages to see if they will take them off.
Dont know why there all so tight had them off only a couple of month ago.
Only thing i can think is that when my car had a full respray last month they must have taken wheels off, and put on with pressure gun.
