Well I've made a dession!
Well, after all my trouble I've had with my scooby, ive decided to remove the engine again and rebuild it from scratch myself! I'm very mechanically minded but a wee bit of advice along the way would go along way .
This rebuild will include all new sensors and the engine bay a good tidy with possible some wee blingy bits here and there.
The only questions I have at the moment is where can I find all the torque settings for the bottom end? And what's the best water pump and oil pump to use as I would like to up rate them while I'm doing the build?
The only thing that will be getting left alone is the heads as these where skimmed, pressure tested and shimmed up when my head gaskets went.
All advice is welcome, and any little tricks and tips for doing this build would be appreciated as well cheers wiggy.

RCM oil pump seems to be the one to go for not sure if there is a uprated water pump. Have a look on e-bay for a service manual on disc. I got one for about £3.00 also found the subaru parts disc, takes a bit of getting used to but works okay with XP and windows 7.

Do a search on here, the 04 sti is the most helpful and has everything you need to know, best prices for parts are from a place in bristol, that has somthing to do with rogerclarke, cant remember the name but i'm sure someone will know.
It's not difficult, just make sure everything is spotless, and a touch of ocd helps.
A good machine shop is essential, get the crank balanced, i would recommend that you have this done by Engine Tuner, speak to Alan or martyn j on here, it will be worth your while to make sure this is done correctly otherwise you WILL be doing it again.
Good luck.
