Default Running mods with no remap.

Im going to be getting my 97 classic fitted with an esl board and remapped. I will be fitting a 2.5" decat system, induction kit, and a walbro uprated fuel pump. Will having all these mods running on the standard ecu be ok untill I get it remapped?

No... Keep it off boost until remapped.

And by off boost I mean under 3k and no more than 1/2 throttle

i ran my 97 uk car with full hks decat system and headers, induction, walbro and newage tmic for 2 years with no probs, had the afr checked at enginetuner and made 260bhp and ran spot on.good jump from standard.some cars seem to be able to handle mods without remap(as long as standard boost).easy way is get afr checked after fitting.

In a word, no. yoiu may get lucky as every Impreza is slightly different but I wouldn't personally take that chance if you value your car. It would be a case of "told you so" if/when it went boom

I've run decat exhausts before on classic Imprezas but had issues of boost spike due to the lack of remap to take into consideration of reduced back pressure.

What induction kit and why? The standard airbox and filter are better up to 300+bhp.
