I will never use Tesco fuel in my pride and joy, never have and never will
They had issues a couple of years ago with bad fuel so sh1tty tanks doesn't surprise me.

Stick to selling food Mr Tesco and let shell do the petrol.

It is routine to clean tanks, Petrol stations are supposed to clean the tanks out every 5 years as far as I can remember, I'm sure this applied to all stations or did 5 or 6 years ago anyway

My wife's last 3 cars have all had engine management light problems, I've recently put that down to Morrison's fuel.

Where do you stand if, as a result of the contaminated fuel, your engine goes bang?

A pal of mine has recently had to have his injectors replaced in his modern mondeo (almost £1000) and the first thing the mechanic said when asked why they failed was,

"do you use tesco fuel sir".....

I rest my case.

Was it a diesel Mondeo by any chance? Just for the record I use Momentum and have had my car mapped to run on it and had the map tweaked a couple of times and always made decent power without any problems since I have owned the car, maybe I'm just lucky, generally when you ask mappers etc they recommend V-power or Momentum

I've never heard a mapper recommend Tesco fuel to be honest, it's always V-Power but momentum if you have to...

Yep, pals car is a diesel.

At the bus stop

I reckon it would be a hard long fight but as long as you colud prove it to a certain extent they would probably play ball to save on the bad PR

Extracted from BoB Rawles website

Fuel choice is very important and strongly influences potential gains, for the best opportunity then Shell V Power or Tesco Momentum (99) must be the norm

If I'm honest I was told V-power as a first choice but that Momentum was absolutely fine, as said my car was mapped on Momentum, reason I asked if it was a diesel Mondeo is because the injectors are a known to be rubbish and often need replacing, 9 times out of 10 when a diesel Mondeo comes in with running faults it's usually down to a duff injector from my experience, it would be very interesting to know what exactly was wrong with the injectors for someone to able to tell it was bad fuel from Tesco that damaged them? Might be worth telling your friend if he uses that mechanic often about the injectors.
