On my drive home from work there is a junction with a sharp rise leading up to it. If i get caught by the red light and have to do a standing start if i am eager and raise the front suspension up there has been a tick sound, which i could only presume was the turbo heatsheild assembly.

I changed the oil and filter today and was bouncing the suspension down after being jacked up to hear a ticking, grating drivers strut.
Jacked it back up removed said roadwheel and investigated, to find my lower spring cup on the strut carrying a few passengers ! Stones !!! So, raked them all out and cleared out the water drains of wedged stones, lowered car and hey presto - Silent Strut. Then cleared the passenger one too.
