IMHO if your driving a scooby off boost no point having it and paying all that extra insurance etc you might as well get yaself a 1.0l Micra lol

Driving on boost means WOT everywhere, if you have a WRX or more this is seriously booting in. I dispair with some Scoob drivers. Some idiot near me the other day in a bugeye hitting the limiter in 2nd in a 30 zone. Dangerous and stupid.

No.

I drove mine all the way to Limoges off boost, got nearly 30mpg, fully loaded, and I MEAN LOADED.

I think when you drive a scooby as a everyday car you get to a point that you control it and not always on boost, i went from Leicester to Manchester and back and managed to get 27mpg out of the car and with 3 passengers.

When you drive a Subaru doesnt mean you need to be on boost all the time, some people may think that you should but i dont think thats the way you drive these cars.

I enjoy driving my Subaru off boost and there is so much to enjoy even driving off boost, not saying that i dont boost my car, i do but within reasons.

Remind me to not buy a car from one of the 'always on boost' members

Just a questions, what are we classing as 'off boost'?? I can hear my turbo spinning from about 1500rpm so technically its on boost? Is it? Or are you talking about full boost?

You can still get these things up to high speeds 'off boost'...

I'd like you to elaborate on this nonsense please?

Driving an impreza slowly is still a much more satisfying, enjoyable and probably safer place to be than the ragging you'd have to do in a micra to even maintain the speed limit!

Its the same with any performance car. You know you've the power at your disposal, should you wish to use it. Just because its there, it doesn't mean you have to always boot it. To be honest, its sometimes nice just to cruise along in the middle lane and enjoy the thrum of the boxer beat.
