Default Spec D - did it come with gold or silver wheels?

So i'm looking for a 2006+ Spec D... Wiki (the ever unreliable) states they came with silver wheels and not gold... 2 for sale at the mo have gold ones (which look off on a silver car i.m.o).
Any Spec D owners buy from new with gold wheels?

Thanks Steve. I'd looked at that before and sadly only proves that a) they tested one with silver wheels and b) they don't love impreza Sti's as much as they should

I suspect gold wheels are either a dealer replacing non gen wheels or a paid option but (which is fine as it means the ones i've seen are factory!).

Need a few Spec D owners to comment i guess

Well seeing as it was meant to be a Discreet model I`d have thought it wouldn`t come with gold alloys I`m sure someone much more knowledgeable will be along soon

Makes sense to me too... Gold on silver shouts 'change me!!!'
Might just give me enough cloat to haggle them down a few hundred so i can use the cash for a colour change/refurb or better still second silver set so the gold ones = track day possibilties!! Yum yum!

Spec D had Enkei silver wheels, 17 x 8, 225/45 tyres.

I was given brand new wheels and tyres as the ones on the car were marked.

Last year a dealer offered me a full set of brand new wheels and tyres for £100 / corner which is cheaper than the F1's I bought, but I didn't want the Dunlops again. I think they have piles of them from replacing the originals with PFF7's. Worth an ask.

Unique colour, Spec D sticker, and no-one would put the 'uprated' ICE and crap satnav into their car unless it was OEM

on mine the sticker is on the lower B pillar on drivers side.

Pioneer head unit sounds OK but I found it fiddly to use and didnt like the flashing display, so I swapped it out for a better one. Also removed the smart nav, didnt like it and not worth the money.

Yeah i had that smart nav in my 6mps... Pointless when u have a tom tom but hey at least you know when u face north(!!??).
Still if the pioneer can run my old(ish) ipod and work as a bluetooth h.f.kit i might keep it. Got an old parrot somewhere (que the bird joke) so can always wire that in if its cr*p!

Hows the leather wear on seats and wheel?

Yeah I had not long bought a tomtom when I got my car so no need for the smartnav. Had to buy a new vent surround though as there was a hole in it from the smartnav.

Leather on wheel is as new on my car ( 36k miles, well looked after ) but the edges of the seats are wearing. I am quite large though so the seats work hard.

Once the leather wears through I will have the seats recovered, dont think it will be too expensive.

Cheers for the reply DT. Went and looked at one yesterday. Full Subaru History but no invoice for the cambelt parts so I'll call up the dealer on that on Monday.

The clutch felt high to me - My MY03 WRX wasn't a very high bite point so it concerns me and at 59k it is probably on the way. Are the STi clutches high at bite?

A couple of small but noticeable dents in the bonnet which was a real shame and the brakes need a full swap soon so probably a no go!
