Question Removing paint

Will be getting my fmic pipework chrome plated but I need to get them back to bare metal what's the best way to remove the paint which has taken well to the steel.

Paint stripper as above would do the job.

I would have thought chrome plating would be expensive as the pipes will need to be nickel plated first. I would go for stainless steel or polished aluminium items if it was me.
