Put the scoob in storage for a few months and buy a cheap gutless piece of crap. Once you have driven that for a few months get the scoob back out and it will feel fast again. What you save in fuel will probably pay for the banger lol

You could mod it a bit more but you will eventually get used to that. I know exactly what your going through chap, I'm sort of at that point too.
I've not driven my car for about 3 weeks now and won't do until next weekend. I find that after a few weeks it feels fresh again if that makes sense.

As simon says(no pun intended lol)it never stops mate, ive been at 200+, 300+,400+ and now 500+ and i ended up buying a little deisel runabout for a few hundred quid, this costs me £25 a fortnight to run compared to £140 a fortinight running the scoob everyday, plus when i do get back in the scoob it feels incredible to drive and i fall in love with it all over again..win win situation Craig.

Don't get me wrong, even at my 'adequate' age the thought of owning a powerful modded car is addictive and at the nudging point of 400 bhp I would love more but - take a step back for a second - what is the real point of all that power on the public roads? How many times do you get the opportunity of using the capabilities of your 480bhp monster on roads shared by the vast majority of people who really have no interest and quite frankly, think you're a total tw*t? And unless you're skilled and experienced in motorsport, you couldn't take advatage of it on track, either!
Let's be honest, it's an ego thing. Nothing much wrong in that but sometimes it's worth re-evaluating what it's really all about?
Like I said, I'm as bad as most on here but I thought I'd try and provoke a little light conversation on the topic.

The best advice is to drive a normal car for a while and reset your baseline of what constitutes "normal" The scooby will go back to feeling like a rocket ship after that!

Great post
Since bumping the power up on my car to over 400 I have found the power less useable. Like you say, it's an ego thing. I wanted to be able to say I had a 400+ classic even though a 300+ is just as much fun in the real world.
99% of the time my boost is set to 1 bar which is ample.

I think that once you reach an adeqate power level (say 350-400bhp for arguments sake) that what really needs attention is handling and braking, those two should come first but most of the time they are secondary to the pursuit of outright power.
After all, there is no point hooning it down a straight and then having a car that cannot handle the power when going around corners.

Yeah you also get a more laggy car with a higher boost threshold. If you don't get boost till say 5k then it becomes a PITA. I know you could spend a fortune increasing the rev range of the motor but then it's £££££s. This is the prob with small displacement turbo cars on the street.

Yes but when you get 40MPG and I get less than 20MPG, you can pass me as I pull in for fuel again.
