Been thinking about this option also with my next map tweak. Sure i read somewhere that there are little or no gains to be had on a road car though ? Is there any damage that be caused with having it fitted ?

Your engine will blow up if used all the time. I have it mapped on my type R through a Simtek but it is simply for show.

Yep, road antilag is just noise, it does also damage the car if used to much.
bit of a tweek to the over run wont damage and gets a nice pop and bang.

Iv got it used it a few times but it's just a toy no need on the road & it can kill your turbo.

I like it alot
wish it was a bit more aggressive though, or had a pop between gear changes.

Yeah I know it's only a toy but would like the choice if using it. I got told that it gets set up mild so there in no internal damage

Good to hear this boys as I will be fitting a fmic and getting mapped soon myself… do I just ask the mapper then? (Sorry to jump in Craigo!)
Also, I know it is chavy, and I know it is sad, and I know you look like a lunatic … but…. My flamer kit (yes I said it) when left on but not driven hard lets off the most almighty BOOMS every now and again when it builds up enough in the pipe… it is unbelievable, you can feel it in the small of your back…
just saying!!!

Funny how everyone says it "Destroys your car" yet we actually hear very few, if any who have had engine failure because of anti lag.
If used moderately its fine, like most things. Obviously if you drive round with it on 24/7 its going to cause some damage.

because those that have it tend not to admit the real fault of the failure lol

The cylinder heads that are on my car had been previously fitted to a car fitted with anti lag and all the valve seats were heavily pitted and one valve had failed!
That's enough to put me off and I've also seen turbos damaged by anti lag.

Only issue any customer has let me know about has been repeated header leaks (blows uppipe gasket on after market headers) and that was set up very agressively and he uses it alot.

i always thought it destroyed ur headers rather than turbo, i guess its not out the question, but cracked headers was reason i never got it done
