To be fair mate there the best of the uk blobs having the dccd, wide track and up dated interior and avcs
My advice is as long as it's got it sh and cambelt done and he likes it, go for it!!
I love mine still after 3yrs
What price is it at??

thats what i thought but he tell me its got a few gadgets like tracker, keycode immobiliser, turbo timer, apparently pumping out 330bhp but yet to see the results as the car itself looks standard apart from a prodrive exhaust but I'm sure they all have that,

Tracker is standard, keypad is standard. Turbo timer is pointless IMO. 330bhp is achievable with a simple remap. I used to own one and they are great cars but £9k is top end prices for one of these. If you have a link for the advert put it up here and people can advise you on it.

Have you checked out Hurst Cars if in you're in Bedfordshire? (google it, I cant do links!)

Run buy a guy called Max, he doesn't actually have any premises but he usually has a good stock of decent low mile/fsh Imprezas,

Me and a few others on here have bought from him, probably not the cheapest around, but I found him to be knowledgable and honest.

I went for a 2004 sti myself having tried 2 dccd equipped cars.
This may go against the grain and may be down to what setup the sellers were using but I found that my non dccd car drove as you'd expect, like its on rails!
I like the no messing around, get in and go of it and think id end up messing the car up with the various settings.

Earlier cars are still good, but the improvements from my05 include widetrack, larger hubs, improved interior, suspension changes and probably a lot more, but a mint my03 is a better buy than a rough my05. I went my05 but in jdm. But whichever you buy don't think you will be disappointed

PPP is nothing to rave about, he could do better getting a similar exhaust, remap, fuel pump etc from the traders on here.
i certainly wouldnt pay a premium for the ppp over a non ppp car.

How much is the 03 one? You need to prepare to travel for the right car and not just buy one because it's convenient I did a 9 hour round trip for the last one for the sake of your time for one day and worse case a tank of fuel if it's not what you're after it has to be worth it. How much is he looking to spend and has he cash or looking for finance?

the 53 is up for 6495 but he said hell take 6k cash, 70k miles, he will be willing to travel but its getting there and being disappointed which puts him off abit, he's got 10k and it will be cash, I've mentioned the hawk eye model but he's very keen on the blob eye

If I had 10k in my pocket, I'd be looking at this(if insurance isn't a problem)

05's still suffer from the familiar newage problem of sh1te shocks, bought mine about a year ago with 33k on the clock and replaced all the standard suspension for coilovers, the only real route to take on these at this age as you cant by kyb shocks from anyone other than directly from Subaru :S One year earlier (non widetrack) and the shocks are different. Its a good knock down point with a stealer if the suspension has not already been replaced., the bill with Subaru for having a pair of rear shocks fitted (they nearly always go first) is rather expensive as you can imagine.

At the price stated above the history needs to be 100% on everything and car should be completely immaculate with good tyres brakes etc. and plenty of road rent and MOT.

Good luck and happy hunting let us see some pics of what ever he buys in the end

2005 owner

Ginola
